Program Description

The Barracuda Aces Rookie Academy is designed for softball players aged 7U-10U to introduce players to the beginning stages of comprehensive softball training and a first touch into the competitive softball world. This training is at the core of the entire Barracuda Aces program. Members of the Barracuda Aces Rookie Academy will be provided training by high level coaching staff at practice sessions and developmental training.  

What We Offer

The Barracuda Aces Rookie Academy is a year-long program (August 1 -mid-June) and divided into two different seasons, Fall and Spring.  We offer year-round training, development and playing opportunities, including:

Fall Season (Early September-Mid October)  

• 2 practice per week at various locations including Sportsplex West in Waukee, Fareway Fields in Norwalk, HitShed in Waukee, Holiday Park in WDM and other local indoor and outdoor facilities.
• Participation in the Central Iowa Fastpitch League
• 2-5 competitive tournaments in the Des Moines metro area

Spring Season (February-June)  

• 2 practices per week at various locations including Sportsplex West in Waukee, Hit Shed, Holiday Park in WDM, Fareway Fields in Norwalk and other local indoor and outdoor facilities.
• Pitching Academy
• Developmental Training Nights (Feb & Mar)
• Participation in the Central Iowa Fastpitch League
• 6-8 competitive tournaments in the Des Moines metro area

Program Fees

Fees will be broken into two separate fees; training fees and tournament fees. Training fees cover the expense of facility rentals, softballs and various training equipment, practices, facility maintenance, insurance, indoor facility, and director pay.

Tournament fees will be billed separately depending on how many tournaments the team decides to participate in. When the team is formed the coach/players/parents will come to a decision of how many tournaments and how much travel they would like to do and that will determine the cost.
